Analysis

An era closes for the flamboyant Oklahoma City Thunder: after 3 eliminations in the 1st playoffs round suffered since Kevin Durant brought his talents to the Bay, the Thunder press the "rebuild" button and sell his jewels in rapid sequence.

Paul George traded to the Clippers where he will attempt the assault on the championship paired with the multi-MVP of the Finals Kawhi Leonard, while the "pillar" Russell Westbrook rejoins after 7 years with James Harden arriving in Houston.

Sam Presti once again unleashes his brilliant GM skills, laying the foundations for an intriguing future: 15 1st picks in the next 7 drafts and a potential future All Star like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander already onboard.

The most surprising aspect, however, is that presumably the Thunder may not need to "tank" in the coming years, as the current roster is still competitive for one of the last playoff spots in the WCF.

Further mix-up in the upcoming months are expected, being Paul, Gallinari and Adams on sale, but in the meantime the Basket Maniacs algorithms predict a slight reduction in the overall W-L record.

Forecast 2019-20: 45-37
